I am a doctoral student at Pepperdine University pursuing a PhD in Global Leadership and Change. I am currently designing a financial planning curriculum for middle school students and research opportunities for increasing equity.

I have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Learning, Design and Technology with certificates in Online Teaching and Learning and Designing and Developing Educational Multimedia. I have experience in website and curriculum design, learning management systems, photography, and storytelling. I also taught coding and robotics courses

I have a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Economic Development from the University of Houston Victoria, an AACSB accredited School of Business Administration. For almost twenty years I operated the back end of repair business. I spent much of my career as a Childcare and Programming Coordinator. I have recruited, hired, and trained hundreds of volunteers and employees. I have led annual events with over 700 participants per event and over 200 weekly events per year, with 30 to 100 attendees. I have chaired publicity and awards committees and developed budgets. I have designed websites, check-in systems, training materials, and newsletters. I have managed databases, taught children aged two years through sixth grade, and selected, implemented, and created curriculum.

I have a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in metal and wood sculpture and art teaching. I have had sculptures at Laguna Gloria, The New Gallery, the Art building and the Seventh and One Half Floor of the Littlefield Building.

I support an environment following the current ISTE standards, where students are creators and teachers are facilitators. Students learn best through active participation and real-world situations. Dweck’s (2007) work, which values the implementation of a growth mindset (rewarding improvements) instead of a fixed mindset (rewarding outcomes) has shaped my teaching style.

As an educational technology consultant, I want to empower others to use educational technology to improve the quality and accessibility of online education. I help people develop websites and educational materials. For more information about my services contact me at jaclynblack@jaclynblack.com.
