I updated the text on the About Me page. I have posted a simulation of the process. I used the free version of Screencast-O-Matic to record the video. It allows users to select the area of the computer screen they would like to record. The free version gives fifteen minutes of recording time, and users can create multiple fifteen-minute videos.

I used a free app on my Android phone to record my voice and initially edited everything together in the free version of WeVideo. WeVideo allows users to create one five minute free low-resolution video per month. I then decided to make some adjustments and pay for a WeVideo subscription, which removed the WeVideo watermark and allowed me to create more videos.

  1. Screencast is a great tool. I use it quite a bit for making vids. Your vid is also great! I didn’t realize that WordPress does auto saving and you’re able to compare the two side by side. Also, you’re about to get a bunch of responses because apparently, WordPress wants you to confirm a subscription, so I’ve been waiting for blog posts from you… aaaaand, it was my fault.

  2. Thanks for the explanation of how you made the video! I’m a newbie with that kind of thing and am tasked at work with the project of making 5-10 minute videos of how to use our online community center.

    1. I’m glad I could help! The great thing about WeVideo is that you can layer different video and audio tracks and line them up exactly how you like.
