For this video, I continued to record my screen with Screencast-O-Matic but decided to try an open-source, free video editor. I used OpenShot. The program was a little unstable at first but my computer adjusted. I had to look around to figure out how to hear the audio and the transitions aren’t the best. Also, the audio doesn’t default to a visual view of the sound, but you can change that setting. If you are patient and want to use a free editor this one works okay and with some practice, it has the potential to be enjoyable.

Hi Jaclyn,
Thank you for taking the time to create a video tutorial. I really like WordPress. In your experience, how would you compare WordPress with other services, with regards to user friendliness?
Hi Blanca. I think there are definitely easier tools out there. A much simpler route is Wix. I’ve been using WordPress since its earlier days when it was much more about coding. I enjoy experimenting with it. For me, it isn’t as fun now that it is more drag and drop. But when I work with clients I use Wix because I think it is the better option for most users.
Why do you think there are so many issues with going back and forth between the versions? You mention that sometimes you have to redo it to get it to realize the change was made. Have you tried contacting WordPress and asking them why that is?
Also, never tried Openshot. May give it a go!
I think, with the tools they are using to make it more user friendly, it has added a lot of layers that make it more complicated to update. I miss the earlier days when it was more about the coding. But I understand the push for ease of use.
